Sprinkler Systems & Sprinkler Contractors Are Not All Created Equal...
How to Ensure You Choose the Right Sprinkler Contractor...
When purchasing a sprinkler system, be sure to ask your sprinkler contractor the following questions...
Are they fully insured to install and service lawn sprinkler systems?
What training programs do they have?
What is their safety policy?
Are they covered under the Worker's Compensation Act?
Is the office staffed during business hours to answer your call?
What customer support is there after your system has been installed?
Are they a member of Landscape Ontario or any other trade association?
Will all interior and visible exterior piping be done in copper and by a licensed plumber?
Will an adequate backflow prevention device be installed to protect your water supply?
Will the controller be a modern electronic type, which allows you to have full scheduling abilities?
Will the controller allow addition of extra zones for future expansion?
Will all wiring above-grade be enclosed in electrical conduit and only water-proof connectors used?
Will extra wires be installed for future needs?
Will all piping to be buried at least 6 inches deep , and be rated at 100 psi or greater?
Will all heads be of the pop-up type and spaced for effective head-to-head coverage?
Will there be different watering zones for the lawn and beds?
Will the control valves be installed in a proper, accessible valve box?
Will a rain sensor be installed?
Don't Just Take the Low Bid...
Because, as you can see, not all irrigation systems are created equal. Some may seem cheap initially, but down the road you'll pay dearly for a poorly designed system.
A Poorly Designed or Installed System
Will Always Prove to Be More Expensive Over the Long Run!
